Customer Review: Cheap, but know their weaknesses...

I took a chance on these (based on the very attractive price) to replace dying, cracked, microwave-fried Rubbermaid pieces. Here's what I learned:
* The round ones ARE air tight. I've been looking for something that is air tight so that food doesn't leak all over when taking some food to work. The round ones are great in this regard.
* The rectangular ones leak. They look nice but they leak. But so do Rubbermaid and so do the Pyrex Deluxe pieces (with the vent and easy to remove lid).
* They really don't stack well and tend to jam. The glass is thinner than other Pyrex that I have so they seem apt to break easier. The Pyrex Deluxe pieces are vastly better in their stacking ability.
Summary: I like them a lot but unlike a lot of glowing reviews, understand they are not perfect. For the price, I bought 4 sets.

This has to be one of the best deals around, even at twice the price, because it replaces so many other things, and is so durable.
The containers work nicely for food storage, but they also can be used for cooking. They go from freezer to oven or microwave, and are dishwasher safe as well. Pyrex is practically unbreakable. With normal use, this set could easily last a lifetime. At the current price, they actually cost less than plastic containers, which do not have either the durability or versatility.
If all that's not enough, consider the health benefits. Glass will not leech plasticiser into your food, and there's no dioxin to worry about when microwaving.
I don't usually rave about kitchen items, but after I recieved this set, I rushed back to order another. I'm getting rid of most of the plastics in my cabinets today!
Customer Review: Good old reliable, non-toxic Pyrex

The whole concept of Pyrex containers is not that complicated, so I'm sure you don't require a lengthy explanation of what these are. Suffice to say that they do their job as promised, they're less toxic than plastic microwave containers, they're very sturdy, and they make you feel a bit saintly using them. I always feel a twinge of superiority when I place my organic, macrobiotic lunch in the office fridge next to the sinful disposable containers full of transfatty foods.
Okay, I lied. I don't eat macriobiotic food. I'm not even sure what it is. But I do bring my lunch in these Pyrex containers.
The only caveat is that the containers get very hot in the microwave, so I usually need a mitt or kitchen towel to handle them.
In sum, they're sturdy glass containers that are quite useful. I promise!

I bought two of these sets and am so pleased I am thinking of buying two more. The smooth glass design is attractive, easy to clean, and stackable. The lids fit on very snugly. The variety of sizes in the set is great. The larger bowls are good for individual servings of noodles or other pasta, and the smaller bowls are good for individual servings of cereal, soup, or chili. I do hand-wash the lids because I wouldn't want to risk heat-damage, but the rest go easily into the dishwasher. I love Pyrex.
Update: Having owned four sets of these Pyrex for about a month now, I have to add that I discovered today that the lids for the smaller bowls in this set also fit perfectly on Pyrex's 10-ounce custard cups, which I already have! How cool is that?! Makes me want to call up Pyrex and ask whether and how I can buy more lids.
Customer Review: Nice Idea but Cheaply Made

I like the concept of glass "tupperware." I appreciate that my lunch doesn't smell or taste like plastic. I use the smaller rectangle box for my lunch and it has worked out. It doesn't leak and is the right size.
However, one of the lids does not fit onto its coordinating piece in the set. I have tried numerous times to get the lid on, but it does not work. Moreover, I dropped one of the glass containers just slightly on my counter and it shattered into a million pieces. I understand that the product is glass and therefore I should be more careful, but the drop it suffered should not have resulted in complete obliteration of the product.
In all, I like the product but wish it was made better. I couldn't find any other companies that make glass "tupperware," so I guess I am stuck with this set for now.
