Customer Review: Good while it lasted

I bought one of these 2 years ago to use in place of the pop up timers in my Turkey. Since I only use this at Thanksgiving and Christmas it had been used 4 times and worked great. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to remove the battery to store it. It also would have been nice if it came with a plastic storage case or a bag to store it in, but that wasn't an important feature to me. This week I needed to use it and while wiping the probe I accidently dropped the probe and it hit the kitchen faucet. I caught it before it hit the sink. It only dropped 3 inches and that was it for it. The room temp immediately jumped to 157 degrees F. It did finally drop to 134, but goes no lower. I ran the tip under some lukewarm water and the temp doesn't change until I take it out from under the water. It jumps back up in the 150 range. I know that I broke it by dropping it, but it only fell a few inches and should be able to withstand that small amount of force. It isn't made of glass. If fact my glass thermometers manage to withstand being dropped from a higher distance than this was. I will be replacing it with another brand in the hopes that it can withstand what I consider normal usage and mishaps.
