Customer Review: Not an Airtight Seal

These containers are very convenient, but the tops are not airtight. I use the little ones for Kimchee and it will often spill with the lid on. Never expected that. I still like them and use them daily, but I have be very careful for carrying it full. Too bad that they didn't make the seals airtight. We decided to replace our plastic containers because of rumors that heating them in the microwave could release some chemicals on the food. Don't really know if it's true, but just in case, we got rid of them. These containers are heavier than the plastic ones, of course, but they are sturdy, durable and very good looking. These containers are heavy-duty glass, with heavy-duty, flexible plastic lids. Plastic is ubiquitous and said to be toxic. If you want to avoid microwaving anything in plastic, switch to some nice glass containers like these. I've had mine for over a year, use them constantly, and the lids are still just fine, and the glass is spotless.Customer Review: Nice Set

I love Pyrex so I knew what I was getting before I got it. The lids are a nice blue and the containers are sturdy and I love the shape. I chose this shape because I have a side by side refrigerator and the round storage containers take up too much space. I wish they had this shape in bigger sizes. I love these! I usually make a big batch of curry/soup/stew/anything and freeze it in the single-serving-sized containers to be drawn at random from the freezer for lunch in the office or on the go. I can't get enough-- I love how they stack, I love that they can go in the microwave, dishwasher, oven, and freezer.
