Water boiled in this tasted and smelt of plastic. I boiled and rinsed out the kettle numerous times. I brought it back after a week. I couldn't stop thinking about my health and yes I tend to drink a lot of tea, so I do notice it.Customer Review: OK kettle

My kettle worked pretty well for about two years and then stopped working. Also at some point it developed a slight burning-plastic smell, which was definitely unappetizing. But it did boil water quickly, and was pretty cheap.Customer Review: Won't stop boiling!

This is a good thing and a bad thing. The unit boils like nobody's business, but it doesn't shut off automatically. You have to do it yourself when you hear that comfortable familiar boiling sound...tea time and none too soon!Customer Review: Good for the price

Pros: cheep and works well.
CONS: Lid is hard to close, most of the time I do not close it at all. After water boils, it keeps boiling for some time, waste of energy. But neither is much of an inconvenience.

I've had this kettle for months and keep hoping that I'll be able to get rid of the plastic flavor in the water it boils, but it's hopeless. It ruins the flavor of tea, but is also probably harming anyone who drinks it.
