It's a nice product: light, quite good looking (if you're not into the chrome thing) nad efficinet. I had no problems with it so far. The only improvement to wish for is that it turns off when there's not enough water in it to cover the heating element - it turns off in a couple of minutes. I have used an electric kettle for 11 years with no problems. Bought this one and after following the directions to boil then dump the water and start again for several times I could not remove the smell and terrible taste of the plastic. I loved this kettle from the moment I bought it. I have another, smaller version, from the same company at work which has lasted for 5+ years. I purchased this 2 years ago and suddenly it's smelling of burned plastic, also making the water taste of burning plastic. I'm so disappointed!!Customer Review: Cheap way to boil water real fast!

I don't know why the previous review finds it necessary to warn people that this kettle boils water, as I think that is why you would want to buy it! It is very reasonably priced and works great. I use this almost every day to boil water for my tea pot.

This is the second kettle I have purchased and both have worked great. I bought this one for a 2nd house because it was bigger and "cordless". I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone looking to heat water fast and efficiently.
