Customer Review: Good value but won't last forever

After about two dozen uses, the handle is showing signs of fatigue. The contact point where the handle mates with the top of the ice shaver is wearing down. Perhaps I am applying too much pressure? Well, it seems you have to if you want to shave the ice faster. For those who use a more gentle touch, this may not be a problem.Other than that criticism, I must say we have been enjoying this for making "slushies" and ice coffee. If you add a teaspoon of sugar to the water before freezing, it makes shaving the ice much easier.
Description of Progressive Snow Shaver Ice Grinder
The Snow Shaver ice grinder is simple to use--just drop a block of ice in the top, secure the lid, and turn the crank. Within minutes, you'll produce a mound of shaved ice that can become a snow cone, a margarita, or a bed for shrimp cocktail. Freeze juices, coffee, tea, or milk for cool (and low-fat) summer treats.
