Customer Review: Simple no mess bacon cooking

I used to have a Bacon Wave but it got lost in the shuffle when I moved from one place to another. Picked this one up in a thrift shop and it appeared brand new. I never even thought of it for bacon because I have a new microwave that I didn't wish to splatter up so used this simply to put things on for warming up and that way it saves having to clean up the bottom of the oven. Then eventually searched for a new Bacon Wave and found the five star ratings here for something I already have. Am glad I looked here because with the paper towel over the bacon (very important) it cooks without a mess at all. I do like crisp bacon and this provides it. The only reason I rated it four stars instead of five is that it doesn't cook evenly. One side of the tray will have crisp bacon, the other side won't. You can cook it and turn the tray around before it's done which helps a lot, but the middle is still undercooked. I've gotten all of my items like this in Thrift Shops so don't know if I'd go out and pay the prices on Amazon - plus shipping, or not, but I do like this item to cook bacon. One downside I had with the Bacon Wave is what others have mentioned and that's that the tines sticking up from the bottom break off easily which makes it difficult to use and it does the BW does splatter like crazy. You can throw this into the dishwasher and it cleans up pretty good.
