Received this as a Christmas present in 2006. It works fine but two problems....first and foremost is that it is made in China. It was missing the antislip base which makes it very difficult to use on a counter top! Went to the kitchen store where it was purchased and the other one in stock was also missing the base..Think someone had a bad packing day! ha ha Anyway, double check if you buy this to make sure all parts are there including the non-slip base. Also, and not a minor problem, the lid to the cutting container fits so tightly it is almost impossible to remove it once you have snapped it into place...there should be a simple button release or something to make it easy to take the top off! Poorly engineered tight fit. The machine, for what we have tried using it, has worked well, in fact, better than we expected, but the aggravation of having to hold it in a headlock to use and then not being easily able to get the top off makes it not worth the trouble...After all that's why man invented knives, right? ha ha
