Customer Review: Very disappointed and wasted my money

At first, even before opening the box I was impressed with the weight of this item which told me it was not going to be made of flimsy plastic and I was right. It is very well made from heavy duty plastic but that is the only good thing I have to say about this product. Let me start with what is referred to as the "small blade" that would be the orange one, it will not cut anything, it could not even cut through the skin of a plum tomato. It simply mushes down tomatoes, onions and anything else you try and cut with the small blade and don't even think about trying to dice a potato. On to the "medium blade", the green one. It did mange to cut a zucchini even if I could only cut three inch pieces at one time. It did cut a potato after I leaned on it while pressing down with both hands, it barely made it through a green pepper and absolutely slaughtered a tomato because like the small blade it could not cut through the skin. How this piece of junk got so many rave reviews is beyond me. I don't doubt those that love this thing and can only assume that they were lucky enough to receive one that actually had sharp blades, cutting grid or whatever you call it. That is all that is really wrong with this product, it's dull, it can hardly make it's way through an onion! Like I said,it's heavy enough but just so dull it's hard to believe that the manufacturer does not realize this. With the pressure needed to cut a potato or whatever I'm certain it won't be long before this plastic food chopper is put in my recycling can. Who knows maybe in it's second life it will come back as something useful like a water bottle or something. My two star rating based is on one star because it is made from heavy plastic. The other star is based on the plastic storage box it came with because I'm sure I can find a good use for it other than what it was intended for. Sure I could clean up the chopper, pack it up and return it but I've decided to keep it as a reminder to never buy anything again from the company that made it or any other type of food chopper for that matter. Save your money and use a knife to cut your veggies it will be easier and faster, trust me!
