I was looking for some quality tongs that used the traditional design found in restaurant services all over the world, and these Progressive International Locking Tongs are the perfect choice!
I first purchased the 12" version to see how they worked and was so impressed with the quality and the feel, I ordered one in every other size they offer as well! The short 9" is great for serving salad, the 12" can be used both during cooking or as a serving tool and the 16" is perfect for Wok cooking under high heat or when frying on a stove top. Plenty long enough to keep your hands away from any grease/oil splatter, but still give you full sturdy control over your food!
The locking system is great and I have no problem with the way it works. PULL OUT on the RING to lock and PUSH IN to UNLOCK. You can lock and unlock these one handed with your hands full using this simple but effective locking system.
These tongs are a MUST HAVE for any serious home chef and I recommend buying one in each size!
