I had a glass pitcher before this one that I also got off amazon. Unfortunately, sometimes the rear of my fridge gets very cold and the water in that jar froze and the jar broke. So, I couldn't get another glass water pitcher. I didn't want plastic due to all the talk regarding BPAs. However I saw this acrylic jar and thought that would be a perfect solution (won't break in my fridge and has no BPAs). It's worked out great so far!Customer Review: Great, except for the cracking

I have both sizes of this carafe and really like them. They fit on refrigerator doors and look great. But after about 6 months we noticed cracks in the necks. It's been about 4 months since that and they haven't leaked yet.Customer Review: Almost Perfect
