This kettle is a very good, standard electric kettle. It is slightly smaller than I'm used to - so if you were getting one for a family kitchen you might want a larger one. Otherwise it is fast, switches off automatically and is easy to use. I've never understood why anyone who had an electric socket nearby would ever bother with a kettle that goes on the stove and whistles when it is ready demanding instant attention. You'd never find an "on the stove" kettle in most of Europe or Australasia so I find the hesitancy in America to fully embrace the electric kettle quite puzzling! Once you try you will never go back.
