Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Proctor Silex 33015 1-1/2-Quart Round Slow CookerCustomer Review: A marvelous little unit Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for small, and this was the smallest I saw. The heat control offers several heat settings, and the cord is long enough to make it to the outlet on my counter. I wanted a quality appliance for heating pickling solution for metalworking, and this fits the bill. Its only drawback for this specialized application is the beautiful steel rim on the pyrex lid, which is adverse for the particular solution I use. But for the price and the quality of the rest of the appliance, I'm thrilled. Besides, if I were using it for anything else I'd want that nice steel band.
Customer Review: Great for small servings and warm dips. Summary: 5 Stars
I have several sized crockpots, all in the 3-6 qt. range so I started looking for an even smaller slow cooker to use for smaller dishes and dips that had a lid. This was well reviewed and I took my chances with is despite not loving the color. I have used it three times and love it. It's easy to wash and stores a lot easier than my others because of it's much smaller size. The only thing I will say is that the week after I bought it I noticed Target had them cheaper, but Oh, well. I find having this around to store cooked foods in just to keep them warm is nice.
Customer Review: Great Little Crockpot Summary: 5 Stars
This smaller sized crockpot is a great addition to my kitchen. I don't always need the larger one, and that's when the 1 1/2 quart comes in handy.
I especially like the adjustable heat settings on this model. All of the other brand smaller crockpots I looked at only had one setting (high). The removable crock is nice too.
Sometimes I connect it to a timer and leave it overnight so my oatmeal (Irish porridge type) is already cooked when I wake up. I really like this crockpot and have recommended it to friends.
Customer Review: Great Size for One Summary: 3 Stars
For one person this is a good size. It has excellent appearance and performs well.
Two complaints: The cover will not allow condensed liquid to drain back into the crock; it can run over the edge and down into the base (a mess!, needless to say). The cord is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. Stiff as a dog's hind leg with rigor mortis. Most aggravating.
Note: I use a bent wire to hold one side of the cover up about 1/16" and this solves the drain-back problem. The crock rim should be designed to do this.
Customer Review: Ideal Small Slow Cooker for Singles and Couples Summary: 5 Stars
*****
I love this little slow cooker! It is sturdy and surprisingly well-made for the price. It is easy to use as well---just plug it in and select "keep warm", "low", or "high"---that's it. It has a nice glass lid so that you can watch whatever it is while you are cooking it. In my case, I bought it to use for melting wax for my work with collage, but I wouldn't hesitate to get another one if I lived alone or just with one other person. This little crock pot is perfect!
Highly recommended!
