Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Proctor Silex 33015 1-1/2-Quart Round Slow Cooker

Customer Review: Couldn't be better!
Summary: 5 Stars

This slow cooker is great, my wife and I have made several meals in it for the 2 of us and it works like a champ. I searched forever to find the perfect one and came across this to find the 3 things I was looking for: small for appetizers or meals for 2, has the keep warm option, and has a removable (dishwasher safe, easy for keeping food in the fridge) dish to make clean up a breeze. If you think you can enjoy it without any of those options then go for the others but I don't know why you would want to struggle to clean the entire machine if the stoneware doesn't come out. It doesn't take up a lot of space in the cupboards which is definitely a plus too.

Proctor Silex 33015 1.5-Quart Round Slow Cooker

I purchased this about 8 years ago after reading the book Frozen Assets by Deborah Taylor-Hough. I am not a great cook by any means but this little Retro machine has saved Dinner for my little family.

What can be easier than adding the ingredients, turning it on, and when you're ready to eat (6 - 8 hours later) POOF! Dinner's ready.

After 8 years it still works great. I love that it has a removable container. Our previous one did not and it was a real pain to wash.

Customer Review: Perfect Slow Cooker for Small Families
Summary: 5 Stars

I've owned this slow cooker for over 7 years and it's still working as good as it did from day one. This slow cooker has cooked for me, my parents and sister in 2003, me and my boyfriend through 2006, and now me, my husband, and two kids presently! It's big enough to make wonderful soups, stews, and delicious slow cooked meats.

I love making chinese soups in this slow cooker as I can put all the ingredients in the cooker at night, and by morning have a yummy breakfast (or an early lunch!) The ceramic serving pot is stylish enough to allow serving at the table.

Highly recommended!

Customer Review: I LOVE IT!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

We got a giant 6 quart crock pot for our wedding and it's fantastic - but with just my husband and I, it's often too big. Cooking a stew for 2 would become a disaster because the 6 quart crock pot wouldn't allow all the ingredients to sit in liquid.

This is perfect for 2. I can make all my crock pot recipes and scale them down so we don't waste any food and still have the convenience of coming home to a fully cooked meal. The price is so great - I definitely recommend this to singles or couples who love the tender slow cooked meals, but don't want to waste food or have to freeze left overs.

Customer Review: Emphasis on "Slow"
Summary: 2 Stars

Temperature settings on this cooker don't seem to work. Or maybe something is wrong with mine. High never brings liquid to a boil. I put a stew on high, but 5 hours later, the potatoes and veggies are still rock hard. The broth isn't getting hot enough to cook anything.

In my large, old 1960s slow cooker, high means boiling in a few minutes. I guess I'm going to have to transfer this stew into the old cooker if I want any dinner tonight.

I like the small size and easy clean up of the 1.5 qt Proctor Silex, but maybe it's only good for overnight oatmeal and keeping sauces warm.
