Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Proctor Silex 22605 2-Slice Toaster

Customer Review: Good reliable toaster
Summary: 4 Stars

I have the Cool-Wall model 22447 that looks exactly like this and was highly rated by CR review a few years ago. I've been quite happy with mine. Toasters get daily use, internal parts have to deal with a lot of heat stress, and normally they don't last more than a few years. Mine is 3.5 yrs old and going strong. Good buy for the price.

Customer Review: what more could I ask?
Summary: 5 Stars

You put the bread in and push down the handle. It toasts the bread and pops it up. It does not make coffee or scramble eggs...it just toasts the bread. I did not find the sides getting hot enough to burn my hands. If it lasts like my last toaster, which was just like this one, I will have paid $1.00 per year for it, I'm happy.

Customer Review: Piece of ****
Summary: 1 Stars

This toaster, given a "Best Buy" rating on Consumer Reports, was a piece of manure. It never toasted evenly, felt cheaply made, burned toast when set on low, and eventually, after only a few months, started sparking and then quit completely. It is currently in our garbage can. Avoid - cheap is NOT always good.

Customer Review: Proctor-Silex 22605 2-slice toaster
Summary: 4 Stars

Good toaster for the price. Performs very well on toast, bagels and poptarts. Word of warning - you don't need to set it very high to get stuff well-toasted. Easy to clean too. One minor complaint is position of the cord. Would have wished that it didn't exit the side of the toaster with the controls.

Customer Review: Cord in Front
Summary: 1 Stars

I wanted a cheap reliable toaster. This one has 2 major drawbacks: (1) The cord comes off the front left corner. Why would anyone want a toaster with a cord in the front instead of the back? (2) It doesn't toast evenly. For me those two thinks make it an unacceptable product.
