Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of ProAccurate ThermometerCustomer Review: Competent small digital thermometer Summary: 4 Stars
This item forms part of a wide ranging collection of cooking thermometers. Certainly not 'instant read', but the small probe seems to work more quickly than other's I've used. Display is easy to read. Re-calibration feature is a neat 'plus'. This is not the right tool for monitoring cooking oil or any application where it will be in close contiunous proximity to heat (there are other cool tools for that).
Customer Review: it's an inexpensive thermometor for heavens sakes Summary: 5 Stars
I bought it because of Cooks Illustrated recommendation and the price. It feels a bit fragile, but it works fine. This things is amazing because it does exactly what is designed to do, tell you the temperature of things, amazing... It's great that you can (and should) calibrate it. If you don't want to spend much, add this to your shopping cart and then check out. Your feelings will not be hurt at all...
Customer Review: digital cooking gauge Summary: 5 Stars
hello, i watch the americas test kitchen on public television. i always wanted a digital thermometor and the one they always recomended was a therma pen, which goes for about $90.00. sorry i couldnt afford one. so recently they tested a bunch of more affordable ones. this is the model that won the test for accuracy and readability. so i was happy to purchase this one, which is very affordable. thanks
Customer Review: Excellent Quick Read Summary: 5 Stars
I have used this Digital Thermometer for over 8 months now and am really impressed with the accuracy and speed of this item. It takes about 15 seconds to get a good read on the tempurature of meats. I have used it extensively for outdoor grilling and have been very happy with it. I highly recommend it as a low cost alternative to some of those very expensive quick read Digital Thermometers.
Customer Review: Short life span Summary: 2 Stars
This worked great for about four months and then it started getting very erratic readings even just turning it on. The first time it started acting weird is when I went to test a piece of pork and it said it had an internal temperature of 230 degrees! Then without using it and just turning it on, it gave me a reading of minus 3 degrees. I'm very disappointed in this thermometer.
