Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of ProAccurate ThermometerCustomer Review: A great tool for your kitchen Summary: 5 Stars
My previous instant thermometer was not quite "instant", but this one responds with great speed. Plus you can turn it on and off unlike other models that are on all the time until the battery runs out (too late if you notice that the thermometer is dead if you already have meat on the grill). The price is also affordable compared with another ultimate thermometer recommended by Cook's. Overall, a very good buy.
Customer Review: Works great! Summary: 5 Stars
This thermometer works fast (instant read), seems very accurate, and stores easily. The small case (plastic sleeve) lists the appropriate final cooking temperatures for various meats, which comes in very handy. Nice large digital display makes it very easy to see the digits. Auto-turn off feature after 10 minutes saves on batteries because I always forget to turn it off. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed!
Customer Review: Fast and Easy to Read - Cook's Country was right! Summary: 5 Stars
This thermometer's large digits and its wide range, from -40 to 350 Farenheit makes it ideal for a lot of functions. I ordered it after seeing it win the testing lab analysis of instant-read thermometers on Cook's Country (America's Test Kitchen) on PBS. It works great. I use it mainly for checking meat temperatures and making sure my liquids are around 100 degrees when I pour them into my automatic breadmaker.
Customer Review: NOT New Summary: 1 Stars
This item is NOT new. It was packed in a dirty slip on plastic cover that was STAPLED to
cardboard, with a rusty staple, and not a sealed clam box. There is a label pasted on the back with with the
following number X0000VDA3T, and the word "NEW" I ordered DTQ450, NOT DTQ450X.
I was only refunded 11.16, but I paid 16.21.
This is unacceptable.

Customer Review: worked fine two times only Summary: 1 Stars
I was really happy with this thermometer. I used it once to make yogurt and once to cook a roast. In neither case did it get dropped, immersed in water or left in the oven. In no way did I mishandle it. And yet, third time was not the charm. It just didn't work anymore. The display still worked but no numbers would appear, not after removing and replacing the battery, nor after trying to recalibrate.
