I really like this thermometer. I've compared the readings to other older thermometers I've got and it's just as accurate as any. Easy to get to the batteries, buttons are a good size...easy to use, but they don't get in the way. I kinda wish ones like this came in some sort of storage box...I'd feel more comfortable putting it away in a drawer if I felt there was a little more protection. I am the family chef..I cook probably 320 days a year. A quick read thermometer like this is a great help in putting wonderful meals on the family table.
I use it when I BBQ steak, Roasts, etc. I use it when I roast or BBQ turkeys, hams, etc. It is an invaluable aid in getting foods "just right".
It has a large display, easy to use controls and reads fairly quickly
I have used CDN products for years, and this is one of the best.

It worked well for a few months. Then the readings started getting very erratic, jumping all over the place. I replaced the battery and tried recalibrating, but it did not help. Now it just shows 3 dashes on the display. I bought it based on a recommendation from Cooks Illustrated, but unfortunately had the same problems as a number of the other reviews here. Would have been a good product if it did not malfunction so quickly.Customer Review: Great 5 year warranty

I liked this alot but it ceased operation after 2 years of light use. Changing the battery didn't help. I was going to buy another one when I read about a different product of theirs had a 5 year warranty. So I called them and this also has a 5 year plan. They sent me a new one without giving the third degree. I didn't even have to send in my old one. Oh, yeah, when I called......a real person answered the phone!! Nice, ehh?
