We have had a business in Haiti for almost 30 years, working with local artists, producing hand painted metal home decor for export to the United States and elsewhere. Our products are all hand cut from recycled 55 gallon steel drums, with a hammer and chisel and hand painted. Since the earthquate in Haiti, we have been providing 2 meals a day to all of our artists, metal cutters, etc. Lunch always includes a meat, vegetables and either rice and beans or corn meal and beans. Our pressure cooker is used continually (mostly for cooking the beans) and replacement of the rubber sealing ring becomes necessary. We purchased 2 of the rings in our last purchase and will be purchasing more as we continue cooking those beans.
Description of Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Overpressure Plug Pack (4 & 6 Quart)
The sealing ring fits around the inside rim of the cover and forms a pressure-tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure cooker during cooking or canning. When installing a sealing ring, work it into the cover in four small sections, for example, top, bottom, left and right. Work it into the groove a small section at a time until it is fully in place. Place the cover on the cooker body. Put one hand on the top center of the cover and push down firmly. Open and close the cover several times.The 09936 sealing ring fits both the 4- and 6-quart stainless steel cookers and 6-quart aluminum cookers.
