Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Presto 8-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure CookerCustomer Review: good choice just not the best choice Summary: 4 Stars
the aspirating mechanism on this 8 quart pressure cooker is a bit tricky to use, the presto 6 quart stainless steel pressure cooker is easier to use(the presto 6 quart stainless steel pressure cooker uses a different aspirating mechanism that is more simple to use and more accurate), obviously the presto 6 quart cooker has a smaller capacity than this 8 quart cooker, if you need the extra 2 quarts cooking capacity then this 8 quart cooker is the best choice, just understand that the "new and improved aspirating mechanism" on this 8 quart cooker can be tricky to work with, i cook with pressure cookers every day for years
Customer Review: Something different Summary: 5 Stars
My grandmother and dad cooked in a pressure cooker when I was young so I thought I would give it a try. I love it. It is such a change from the same old meals. You can take the same ingredients and get such different results. There is also the benefit of the speed of cooking. We had the most amazing ribs last night, and it took only about 40 minutes start to finish, 10 min prep, 15 min cooking, 15 min browning. Last year I bought a big pressure cooker for canning but just could not bring myself to cook in it because of the aluminum. I am very happy I decided to buy this even though it means storing two pressure cookers.
Customer Review: love cooking under pressure Summary: 5 Stars
I have to give the Presto 8 qt stainless steel pressure cooker five stars. I can't find anything wrong with it. I thought maybe the removeable gasket might be a problem fitting back in but it's very easy. At first I wasn't sure of how to line up the lid for easy closing but once I got the knack, it went smoothly. I am so happy with the whole process of cooking quickly and getting delicious results. A whole pot of Minestroni soup in less than half hour and it tastes as if it was slow cooked all day. I'm tempted to order an even bigger pressure cooker, with the economy the way it is I might want to make gallons of soup.
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
This is the biggest Stainless Steel cooker that I could find. It's VERY well made, has a great set of instructions that come with it that include a bunch of recipies, has quick shipping, and it's reasonably priced. I am very satisfied with this product.
Three tips: this disassembles for easy cleaning. 1) wipe a little Olive oil on the silicone seal when re-assembling. 2)get some pipe cleaners to clean the little regulating orifice, it costs about $2 for 100. 3) order the replacement seal and blowout plug kit that you will need in a year or so, less than $15.
You can not beat this thing!
Customer Review: Outstanding Summary: 5 Stars
I never used a pressure cooker before this one and now I am thinking why I did not used before!!!!??. This cooker is excellent, you can cook basically everything in it. It saves you a lot of time and money, basically it pays by itself. Meats are fork tender in no time, beans and perfectly cook in a few minutes. The manual is very informative but I will recommend you to go to the public library and get some book on pressure cooker to start, read the basics and you are ready to go.
The cooker is very well built is not cheap stuff, is heavy and works perfectly. Highly recommended
