Customer Review: Don't bother with this lemon

After reading all the reviews, I decided to purchase this sharpener over the Thanksgiving Day weekend thinking it would sharpen my Henckel knives. However, after reading all the directions and trying it on several older practice knives, i've decided to return it after it ate through my knives and/or making the knives duller than I thought possible.
Until they come up with a better electric sharpener or I choose to purchase the expensive Chef's Choice M130 Professional Knife Sharpener, I guess I'll be returning to my whetstone.

I recently purchased the Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpner, I pulled it right out of the box, read the instructions and followed them to a "t", and presto the knives were sharpen to a near razors edge. I have never used an electric knife sharpner before, I usually use a stone to sharpen my knives, but it takes such a long time to get a good edge. With the Presto electric knife sharpner it was just a few strokes on each side of the sharpner and now I have a near razor's edge on all of my knives. This is a knife sharpener that really gets the job done. It uses a 4 stage sharpening process that is very much like polishing a rock into a fine finished stone. It has put an edge on my pocket knives that now require me to be very careful in using them. I've sharpened all the kitchen knives and there the grinder/sharpener sits, waiting for another sharpening job. I just don't think that money could buy a better tool to sharpen your knives. It is sure to brighten your day and sharpen the knives in your world if you purchase it.Customer Review: Too soon to say

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with this machine after all of the positive reviews. I've sharpened my knives 3 times and they're finally starting to come around. Maybe it's the quality of the knives (Farberware Professional) and not the machine, but I must admit I was hoping for more. I've since bought a nice Dexter-Russell V-lo that I like a lot so I have a basis of comparison. I will continue to sharpen and update as I go, but for now, I'm a bit disappointed. We'll see how they compare over the next few months.Customer Review: Gets the Job Done

I purchased this sharpener because I was tired of having dull knives. I based it on the ratings and just went for it.
I had never owned a sharpener before nor did I know much about them; thus I did not really know what I was looking for.
I sharpen my knives every 3 months or so and I am very pleased with the results. They seem to get sharp and stay sharp. I've even sharpened other's knives for them.
My friend's birthday is coming back and, I like it so much that I will be buying one for her.
