To tell you the truth I have never had this brand of Electric skillet nor have I had a professional brand, even though I have just purchased this electric skillet and have not really had a chance to see it's performance over the long haul but so far the few times I have used it, I have had no problems and I can say it is fast and heats up almost instantly. Does not burn or scorch the food and is a breeze to clean even easier than my Westbend electric skillet with a teflon interior, this Presto brand seems quite sturdy, handles are strong has a nice big handle on top of lid which is nice to hold. Skillet is heavy for heavy duty aluminum which is a very good feature and don't find that kind of quality in electric skillets nowadays, at this point I can tell you I am very happy with the purchase of this skillet and it far outweighed my expectations of the Presto brand. Even though I did not price this skillet anywhere else I believe I paid a lower price than I would have paid in the brick and mortar stores, Sure Source which was the seller of this skillet I might add was fast and my Skillet arrived in tact and working. If you want to purchase a brand that meets the sturdiness and versatility that this brand seems to offer then I would recommend this Professional style Skillet which also doubles as a server.

Contemporary new oval design. Fries, grills, stews and cooks casseroles. DiamondCoat deluxe nonstick finish inside and out. Fully immersbile and dishwasher safe with heat control removed.This attractively shaped oval electric skillet has the capacity of a 15-inch round skillet and cooks breakfast, lunch, or dinner for six to eight people without requiring you to turn the stove on once. Equipped with a warming setting, this skillet also works as a buffet server to conveniently brown sweet and sour meatballs or grill appetizer-sized cheese sandwiches and serve right from the same pan. The heat control ranges from 200 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (in 50-degree increments) and automatically maintains the proper heat setting so foods cook at the same rate as they would on the stove but in a more energy-efficient manner than a range or oven. Made of heavy cast aluminum, the skillet has a beautiful white-colored nonstick interior and exterior surface so meals won?t stick and clean-up is easy. The durable tempered glass cover shows what is being served at a buffet and lets you monitor cooking progress. The skillet rests on two plastic legs that won?t transfer heat from the pan. With the heat control removed, the skillet is fully immersible in water and dishwasher-safe. Presto covers this electric skillet under a two-year warranty and warns against using metal utensils with it as they will scratch the nonstick surface. --Cristina Vaamonde
