I got an electric skillet in 1975 and used it until it quit many years later; then I didn't have one and didn't realize how much I missed it. I have this one now, and it is perfect to make pancakes in for one thing; I also use it for casseroles and keeps it warm when done cooking. I really like it for that reason; when family members can't eat together, it keeps it warm and tasty. It is an easy clean up and can all be immersed in water except for the probe that plugs into the wall and then into the pan base. Get one of the skillet cookbooks to go along with it; great gift for the son or daughter in college too. Casseroles, spaghetti, sloppy joe, grilled sandwiches, fry meats like hamburger or pork steaks, fry an egg and bacon, etc. Excellent for party buffet warmer. I will never be without it.
