This is my second Presto CoolDaddy. My previous one lasted over twelve years of frequent usage and still worked but the basket handle broke off. Presto has made many improvements over my previous model. The only thing keeping me from rating it 5 stars is the inability to close the lid with the basket in the raised position. Other than that small inconvenience, I think the product is perfect. Now whether it will meet the longevity of the previous model remains to be seen.Customer Review: Great safe fryer

We were against getting a deep fryer because we have small kids, but I saw this one and heard that it was a safer option than most. I got it for Christmas just to deep fry French Fries for the kids, but we have been using it for a solid month frying a lot more. It's been fun to experiment with hot dogs and burritos and we have loved making our own fried chicken. For a family that didn't think we wanted a fryer, we sure have loved this one.Customer Review: Works Great!

I have a family of 6 and the size of this works great for us.
We have made fresh french fries...battered fish & veggies. The unit held heat well (I made sure not to over load it) and cooked in time for everyone to get their dinner hot.
The unit is large & with oil stored - it does need to be kept on the counter or in the pantry. The excellent price, cool touch sides and simple, good design makes this one a winner!

I bought this for my husband. He likes to cook fries, fish, pizza bits, etc. He went to use it and was steamed by the lid area when trying to open. Not safe. He was totally disappointed in the product. I bought it because it was Presto. We have two GE fryers and love them. I have a big fry daddy by Presto but it does not have a cover it is an original. It is fine. Any way I would NOT recommend this to anyone to buy.

Customer Review: Cooks a lot of food with a lesser amount of oil

Great fryer in so many ways. It cooks hot, so watch your food. The container can be removed and washed separately from the unit. As another has mentioned, HEAT THE BASKET IN THE OIL BEFORE PUTTING FOOD IN IT, and try not to use those nasty, gooey batters that are like cement. I've owned several other brands over the years, but this is the one I'll come back to every time. It works, doesn't make a mess, and is easy to clean.
