Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Presto 03430 Pizzazz Pizza OvenCustomer Review: Favorite Appliance Summary: 5 Stars
I love gadgets but am always disappointed when I get them. I bought this on a whim for my husband who can't ever get enough pizza. I was so sick of eating cheap frozen pizzas that I had started making them from scratch - they're good, but take forever and flour the entire kitchen. I really just expected this to heat a pizza, saving me from having to heat up the oven, but instead ended up with something amazing. It doesn't make any difference what kind of pizza you put on this thing -- they're all great! My homemade pizzas now taste like gourmet and I can even stomach the frozen ones. But the best thing is that he loves to use it, so he has started making dinner at least once a week. It's sturdy, has a manageable size since the pan comes off, and is easy to clean (despite some others comments). Nor have I had any trouble with the surface on the pan. It's a simple wipe with a soapy sponge and a rinse. I've only had it for a couple of months, but if it broke tomorrow, I'd buy another before the end of the week.
Customer Review: Love, love, love it!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this as a gift, and will admit that I was skeptical about it, but now that I have it I would never give it up. And, quite frankly, I am stunned by some of the negative reviews for this product. I like that I don't spend 15 minutes waiting for an oven to pre-heat. Just turn it on and away it goes. I have not had any trouble with uneven cooking like some reviews have indicated. The center was just as done as the edges. I will say that I turned on just the top element for a couple of minutes after the pizza was done cooking because I like my cheese crispier.
Clean-up was a breeze - just wipe off with a damp cloth. The only drawback that I can think of is that you can't cut the pizza on the tray that it cooks on so you have another dish to clean. But that is such a small issue in my mind.
I have also cooked other things besides pizza with success - garlic bread slices, cheese bread slices and quesadillas are three that worked well. It also works VERY well to re-heat pizza.
Customer Review: Pizza Perfection Summary: 5 Stars
Since I got this product, I've cooked pretty much every frozen pizza known to man using it and each time the result is the same -- Total Perfection.
The pizza cooker doesn't heat up the house, it's quiet, and best of all... it allows you to watch your pizza cook so you can judge exactly when you wish to turn it off.
At first I was troubled because my very favorite pizza (Totino's) usually stuck to the cooking pan. But not to worry! A very, very light greasing of the pan with your favorite vegetable oil (I use grapeseed, myself) and even the gooiest of pizzas slide right off.
If I could give this product 100 stars, I certainly would. This is the single greatest purchase of my life.
Please give this wonderful pizza oven a try for yourself.
Just remember to let it rotate for about 3 minutes AFTER you turn the timer off. If you unplug it immediately, the heating elements could scorch the cooking plate.
Customer Review: GOODBYE! DONATOS Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best products I have used in some time. The last pizza I had delivered was under cooked, tasteless and twenty three dollars. The first pizza we cooked with this machine was a Freschetta, WOW was It good, crisp crust, all the extra cheese we added was melted and super hot! I can say with confidence that I have ordered my last home delivered pizza. Twenty three dollars verses seven, the math and quality of what this machine will do is a no brainer. I did take the advice of another reviewer and added some olive oil to the bottom of the cooking pan that made the crust crisp and added flavor. Here is my tip at no charge to you Ha Ha! throw away that wheeled pizza cutter and buy a pair of pizza scissors or any good pair of scissors and use them to cut your pizza. The scissors will not push your toppings around when cutting hot cheese etc. Gotta go I think my seven dollar, hot crisp crust, melted extra cheese pizza is waiting for Review: Much better then oven baked pizza Summary: 4 Stars
The pizza tastes much better than oven baked and it's nice to not have to heat up the whole oven for one pizza. That said there are a few flaws. #1 I just bought my 2nd one. My first one lasted just 22 months. The bottom heating element apparently burned out. Unfortunately there's no way for you to know when it's broken. The turntable still turns and the top element still cooks so you don't know it's broken until you take the pizza off. #2 the new ones (they are black, the original ones were white) isn't quite as sturdy as the original. The turntable is wobbly and it doesn't seem to cook as fast as the old one. #3 The turntable is impossible to clean. I spray mine with non-stick spray and that works really well. It would be helpful if they told you to do that in the instructions. Instead they offer to sell you a new turntable for $20.
All in all I really like the oven but if it doesn't last much longer this time I won't buy another.
