Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Presto 02970 Professional SaladShooter Electric Slicer/Shredder, WhiteCustomer Review: Noisy & Unnecessary Summary: 2 Stars
I received this several years ago as a present. I've used it to shred cheese and grate vegetables and it does a fair job rather quickly, but I'm ready to get rid of it for several reasons. Worst of all is the noise it makes -- it really is piercingly loud. Cleanup is a chore since there are several pieces that you have to take apart and food can get caught in different places. For my purposes I find it much simpler and quieter to just use my stainless steel box grater. In addition, the plastic cracked on the grater attachment.
Customer Review: excellent shooter, grater, chopper!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
About 10 years ago, our grater broke late in the evening, and the closest thing open was our little hardware store. We had people coming over and needed to have cole slaw made for a party. The had expensive replacement graters, and for a bit more this Salad shooter unit. We thought, what the heck. This was such a time saver, and a great addition to the kitchen. nice even chopped/grated/sliced carrots or cabbage or potatoes, what ever you are chopping. Worth the 20 bucks or so, and likely a good gift as well. Try it.
Customer Review: Overkill Summary: 3 Stars
I have used a regular size Salad Shooter for 30 years and replaced it with the professional size when my old one stopped. I am disappointed in the heavy weight and cutting capacity of the Professional. While it handles larger vegetables better than smaller, and it leaves too much food caught between cone and blade when processing vegetables. For most families, I think they would find the regular size salad shooter more effecient and fun to use. Overall I think the Salad Shooter is more effecient than a food processer.
Customer Review: Don't bother buying, because you will return Summary: 1 Stars
This salad shooter thing was terrible! I tried it and it took me longer to make the salad with that then it would have without it. You can only cut certain types of vegetables and fruit and 1/2 of what you cut gets stuck inside the machine. When I went to clean it, 1/2 my salad was in the machine and was wasted. It also made a funny burning smell when I put something in to cut. I would not suggest this to anyone. If you didn't return it you would put it in the back of a closet and throw out in a few years.
Customer Review: another great product from Presto Summary: 5 Stars
This is a replacement for our last Presto Salad Shooter. We had the old one for MANY years with no problems.
It was the smaller one. This new one is, of course, larger, and a little harder for my wife to handle but
it has more attachments so is more versatile. If it lasts as long as the old one, it will be a wonderful
product, and we have no indication to the contrary. It is a quality product that looks good and has
performed extremely well. I would recommend this product to anyone.
