We use our salad shooter to shread and slice just about anything food-wise in our kitchen. I don't think I would want to make a salad without the Salad Shooter. I use the Salad Shooter for carrots,cucumbers (sliced into 1/4 legenthwise) peeled celery, boc choy,cabbage, radishes, mushrooms,potato's and alot of other foods. Big or small Job I like to save time in the kitchen.I have used the salad shooter for baking with Chocolate and other hard items. I just pullout the salad shooter and I'm done very fast. I make alot of chinise dishes. A big advantage of the salad shooter is that you can aim it right into the cooking pan or the mixing bowl. This is my second presto professional saladshooter, and my kitchen would not be complete without it!!!
For health reasons my family likes to stay away from starchy carbs such as rice & potatoes. As a delicious alternative, I use the shredder cone to grate cauliflower into the perfect rice like consistency creating an amazing tasting side dish we have lovingly named cauli-rice.
It has a major comfort food appeal around our house with the kiddos as well as my low carb man!!!
The saladshooter makes the consistency so perfectly wonderful we don't even miss the high carb alternatives!!!

Our food processor was great, but cleaning it after use was a nightmare. We finally decided to purchase something that would be easier on cleanup and boy are we glad! The salad shooter instructions were easy to follow. We first tried shredding cheese. The machine did a great job shredding several types of cheese. When we went to clean up, we were sold! The salad shooter came apart easily. All parts rinsed off easily and then we tossed them in the dishwasher. What could be easier? This is a HUGE improvement over our food processor. Now that we see how easy cleanup is, we use the SaladShooter for veggies, shredding cheese, and even slicing some of our favorite fruits. I HAD MY FIRST PRESTO SALAD SHOOTER THAT LASTED ME 25 YEARS THEN IT DIED THEN I BOUGHT THE PROFESSIONAL SALAD SHOOTER IT IS A REMARKABLE MACHINE I CANT LIVE WITH OUT ONE OF THESE, WHEN MY MOTHER BOUGHT MY FIRST ONE FOR MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT I WAS SO IMPRESSED BY THE POWER IT HAS AND MAKES COOKING EASY AND FUN!!!!!!!! it is the best investment one can purchase, i would never be without one,my first SALAD SHOOTER WAS ALSO BY PRESTO COMPANY, THIS ONE IS A PROFESSIONAL SALAD SHOOTER WHICH IS ALOT BIGGER THEN THE REGULAR SALAD SHOOTER I HAD THE FIRST TIMED, IT CAN SHREDD, CUT AND SLICE BIGGER PIECES OF FOOD THEN THE REGULAR ONE THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2 SALAD SHOOTERS, I DO ALOT OF COOKING AND BAKING AND THE PROFESSIONAL ONE IS BETTER FOR ME

I have owned the smaller Salad Shooter for many years (and it still works!) and have always loved the ease of use and easy cleaning (I stick it right in the dishwasher), so I wanted the bigger one to try coleslaw with it. I think I'll stick to my food processor for the cabbage shredding because I had to cut the cabbage up too small, but this will do almost everything else with ease, it's very powerful. I love it to shred cheese, carrots, etc. The extra attachments give you a lot of variety in slice thickness. And the best thing is you can aim it right over the bowl or dish that you're preparing and the food will shoot right in without dirtying another bowl! Great for summer salads! I bought my daughter one too and she loves it.
