THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOL FOR PREPARATION OF FOODS IN THE KITCHEN!I USE THIS FOR MAKING THE BEST FRESH SALADS IN WHICH I SLICE OR SHRED CARROTS, TURNIP, SWEET POTATO, RED CABBAGE, CELERY, ZUCCHINI, SQUASH, AND WHATEVER APPEALS TO ME IN THE GROCER'S PRODUCE DEPT. YES, I HAVE CURLY LEAF LETTUCE, RED ONIONS, AND CHERRY TOMATOES; SOMETIMES, SHREDDED CHEESES AND BOILED EGGS ON THE SIDE.....SO GOOOOD!
AND BECAUSE THERE IS A MOTOR, YOUR MAN JUST MIGHT LOVE THE SALAD SHOOTER TOOO! MINE DOES!

I really love this product and recommend it to all. There aren't many products out there that shred cheese and the salad shooter works great for that among all the other things it does. The only thing that I feel the manufacturer needs to change is that the shredder blade be made with more metal than plastic. At times after good usage the plastic on that blade has a tendency to break. I think that is why Amazon if you notice sells a replacement blade and no other blades. I have had this product for a couple of days now and don't know why I never tried it before. It works great and you don't have to cut cucumber or small potatoes. I had seen the cuisinart on tv and almost bought it and thought about the salad shooter. I am a single senior and do not have the need for such a pricey one but needed it as I am getting rid of heavy food processor but still wanted to be able to slice and shred. Should have bought this long ago. Saves space. Can you tell I love love it?Customer Review: I never thought about a salad shooter!

No one told me that you are never to get your wife something that plugs in for a gift. I thought I'd made a horrible mistake when she looked at me and said "I never thought about a salad shooter".
Well we put it to work that night and it really does a great job with cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers and cheese. Avoid onion, I think it is a layers thing... She is happy because I'm doing more of the salad prep now. I believe you should think about a salad shooter!

This is a much used appliance in my kitchen. I bought one when they first came on the market maybe 25-30 years ago and just wore it out. I use it to chop nuts and chocolate and even ice plus many other things. It is so much easier then using the food processor for small batches.
