WHERE has this been all my life? I love potatoes but HATE to peel them. When I wanted mashed potatoes I did what every hard working person does, I started using (ugh) instant potatoes (taste lousy), or bought mashed potatoes that were already made like Simply Potatoes (Man, they have lumps!), Crockpot (Taste awful) or Yoders (taste good). I only made the "real" thing on special occasions. NO MORE!! I just got it today. Rinsed it out, put the potatoes in and turned it on. About 4 mins. later>>>>>>>PEELED potatoes. Hurray! They needed a bit of "clean up "(eyes, indents, etc.) but that only took a few seconds.
I can now make mashed potatoes every night, and a family favorite, potato salad, with little effort! No more hours of peeling! AND no more expensive potato substitutes.
The clean up was also simple. I simply rinsed the parts off, though they can go into the top draw of the dishwasher.
The noise wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it DID move around on the counter so you need to keep an eye, or a hand on it.
This is going to become one of my most used kitchen appliances, no doubt!
I was a skeptic, now I'm a convert. I buying more of these for gifts this year. Thank you, Presto.
