A novice at canning, I found the setup and assembly pretty straight forward. It is a heavy pot, and works fairly well on our ceramic top stove, although it is slow to reach the 15 pressure that most recipes call for, but that's the stove's fault, not the pot's. I've only canned salsa and pickles so far and everything went without a hitch. As with any other type of cooking procedure, make sure you have everything ready before you begin. I've only used pint jars so far, but hope to make some holiday gifts of half-pints and see how that goes. I have not used it to pressure cook yet, so cannot review that area, but as a canning pot it is very good.Customer Review: Top of the Line Canner, Great Service, Speedy Delivery

I have just received my Presto 23 quart pressure canner. I am delighted. It is exactly what I wanted and it can also double as a water-bath canner for quarts. The super discount enabled me to purchase this canner. The raised bottom is also safe on glass and ceramic smooth-top ranges. I am looking forward to doing a batch of applesauce. I have more than one Presto canner, and have found Presto to be very reliable. My original canner is a Presto Model 7B. It is made from cast aluminum and is still doing a great job. I think that the later models probably heat up and cool down faster, and they do have all the latest safety features.Customer Review: Great canner for a glass-top stove

I just received my canner and I love it! It worked great for me with my glass-top stove. I do have a power element on my stove, which I think was very important. It probably would have taken a lot longer if I didn't. I bought the 3-piece regulator with it, so I could can at 10 psi without having to watch the dial. The main reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I think they should have included the 3-piece regulator with the canner since most people live below 1000 ft altitude. Also, I cannot figure out how you can possibly get 20 pint-size jars in it, so I deducted for that as well. But, all in all, I really like this canner!Customer Review: Works as Advertised

I bought this to can homemade tomato sauce resulting from having a huge crop of tomatoes. I was able to fit 10 pint mason jars in at a time. The canner is heavy duty, and all of the parts (presure gauge, presure weight, etc) worked perfectly.
The first time I used it, the rubber seal really put off quite a "rubbery" smell - the second time it was less and so on.
It was priced at $79.99, but after shipping ($12.50) and our local Seattle sales tax ($8.15) I was up to $100. Since it is so heavy, shipping will be high. It might be best to buy something this big at a local retailer. Good product though, and I recommend it.

I purchased this pressure canner recently & have used it to can our produce coming from our garden. I compared brands & prices for canners at retail & online, but found Amazon to have the absolute best deal. There is one small problem that I have had to adjust to w/using this canner. It is not the canner, but my new glasstop stove purchased a few mths.ago. It is a challenge to get the pressure at the right temp & mostly to maintain it correctly. It has to do w/the glasstop stove maintaining heat longer than traditional stoves. It just takes practice & patience. The canner itself is great. I expect it to last for yrs. Great purchase!
