Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Presto 01362 6-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure CookerCustomer Review: Save time and $$$$$ Summary: 5 Stars
I have used my Mother's OLE 60 year old 30 qt pressure cooker with it's 3/8 inch thick aluminum walls for a number of years. But for smaller dinners I decided to purchase this 6 qt unit. WOW !! this is just great. Easy to use and the food is at it's best when I open the lid. So easy to use fill it up to 2/3 full with what jer cookinnn and then just line up the arrows on the lid and the handle, and cook away. I did corned beef and cabbage for St. Patty's day and in 1 hour 15 minutes the beef was done and then loaded the veggies with the meat and another 6 minutes and OHHH soooo good. That's where saving the green backs come in ..the short cooking time. Good investment in saving time and money, and GOOD EATS to boot.

Customer Review: Wish I'd gotten one years ago!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great addition to the kitchen. If I'd known it was so easy to use, I would have gotten one years ago. The instruction manual is good, and the ladies at Presto are good to explain what "rocking slowly" looks like. I made mashed potatoes and green beans the first night. Best ever; tasted garden fresh. The potatoes weren't all mushy from having to boil them -- really turned out fluffy. Did a roast and gravy with mixed veggies the next night (did the roast first and let it sit while I pressured the veggies for four minutes). This pressure cooker is going to keep my kitchen cool this summer. I'm very pleased with it. Can't wait to try pinto beans. . . . . . . . UPDATE: The pintos turned out great. No gas.
Customer Review: I like the noise it makes Summary: 5 Stars
I like the noise the Presto makes; if it didn't make noise, I might forget about it. I start it on a high setting (7) and lower it to 4 when it starts to make noise. Then I time it for whatever I am cooking. Mostly I use stainless steel bowls like a double boiler, perfect rice every time, and the bowls are easier to clean than the cooker itself. The recipe book says not to cook split peas but if you rinse them well and put two tablespoonfuls of cooking oil on top, they cook just fine, I never see any signs of frothing on the inside of the top after cooking. 8 minutes and they are done, much, much longer with a conventional pan. I think my digestion has improved since I started using the pressure cooker.
Customer Review: I wouldn't do without this pressure cooker Summary: 5 Stars
I own 2 of these cookers. I can make mashed potatoes in 10 minutes, cook an entire chicken in 50min..basically, anything that would normally require cooking takes a fraction of the time. I love these cookers. I use them at holiday meals as potatoes go in one and yams in the other. Steamed veggies are a breeze. I have had mine for about 10 years and have had no problem with either. I recently purchased one for my dtr who is in school so she can prepare delicious meals in far less time. Salisbury steak, stews and soups are delicious when cooked in one of these. Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
I previously had a pressure cooker from another brand (lower quality) and it did not last for too long. It was in aluminum and whenever I cooked in it, I would get unpleasant surprises. Either food would burn completely or not cook enough. I was so tired of it that I decided to throw it away and get a decent pressure cooker and in stainless steel this time! I have used it only twice so far but I am so glad I got it ! Not only it looks better than the aluminum one but it works great. You cannot beat the price either with free shipping. I checked it at several stores and it was $20 more expensive. I would definitely recommend this pressure cooker to anyone who wants to buy a product at a very decent price.
