Look, how good does a paper towel holder have to be? The bar is pretty low.
I'll give this product credit for being simple. Open the box, and in less than 5 minutes, you've got your paper towel roll on it, and everything's fine.
But... it's more than a tad weak. The upright pieces, while screwing into the base ok, do not tighten very well. Give them just a teensy extra turn, and the thread passes! like in soft plastic... That is, the metal on one or both of the pieces is too soft. No tight fit is possible. I would have expected a simple contraption like this to be rock solid, the kind of thing my grand-kids could use.
But that would not be this item. It is flimsy. Just able to fulfill its sold-for function. It will be lucky to survive several years of really nominal use.
I don't have a better recommendation, but I'm very sure there are higher quality items out there for the same price. The obvious major expense in producing this produce was in the photography and design of the box that contains it.
