Customer Review: Small, but very effective

I was skeptical about getting a wire strainer to replace my worn out plastic Tupperware Colander, so I kept the colander around to see if the strainer would be to my disliking.
First, I was worried about the wires damaging tender foods. I find that foods didn't show any noticeable damage, but food particles were left stuck in the between the wires. I don't worry about the food, but for someone that likes to clean stuff until it's nearly flawless, I sighed at the extra work.
Second, it's smaller than my colander, so I was worried about washing a large amount of fruits, vegetables, or draining pasta. It seems to be able to hold barely enough when preparing food for 3.
The reasons I picked it over, say an Oxo colander, is because of the smaller holes. Didn't want noodles falling through and wanted to drain ground beef as well. The strainer does an excellent job.
In the end, I'm still attached to my old colander that I didn't put it away for good. The strainer has done everything my colander has done and more, but I guess the smaller size and extra clean-up work is making me hesitant.
