As all the other reviews suggest, this is a nice, compact, versatile timer. I bought two of them a year ago, and recently, one stopped working. I put new batteries in it, and still it would not work -- it emitted a very very faint alarm, that is all. I contacted the manufacturer, Polder, and a representative determined that it was defective. At first, it was unclear whether they would replace it, since I bought it from amazon and not directly from them. I mentioned that I'd write a good review for the product on amazon if they stood by their product, and a not-so-good review if they did not. From that point forward, the company was very responsive indeed! My replacement came in the mail today. So ... all is well that ends well -- especially when amazon helps us to have a little leverage!Customer Review: Great dual notification timer for fasting and tasks.

I use this timer for a water fast where I have to drink every 15 minutes. I love this timer for two reasons.
1) It does not shut off or repeat automatically. You might think this a negative but it is not because it forces me to take an action to reset it and while taking the action, I do the task. I have another timer which repeats automatically but if I am busy, I will ignore it.
2) The timer can be set to vibrate AND beep. If at home I can use the beep but I tend to zone out sounds and in the winter, I sometimes don't feel the vibration through heavy clothing. With two options, my chance of responding are double. I have tried to use a beeber timer and a vibration timer and I get desensitized to both so the dual function gets my attention one way or the other.

I'm using this for a 3 day bar exam and prep. Audible timers not allowed in the bar. Done several simulated exams and vibration mode is perfect. I should have bought 2, one to countdown total test time and one to countdown time allocated for each section. I'll use my watch, remember those things we used to use before cell phones, to countdown time. I've also used this for cooking clipped to my waist. Very functional as a kitchen timer. I use both the audible and vibrating, vibrating, and light. Used the light for presentation I gave at work. Worked like a charm. For presentations, it would be nice if it had 3 different countdown lights that illuminated. I've seen these for much more $. This timer is excellent for the price and performs as advertised.Customer Review: Great Timer

I bought this timer so I won't miss taking my medications on time. My hearing is not as acute as it once was. Other timers only have a high pitched alarm tone which I occaisionly miss.
I set the vibrate function and put the timer in my shirt pocket and have never missed the alarm once. The buttons have a clear detent and have never accidently reset themselves bumping around in my pocket. This timer costs about $5 less than comparable timers that look identical. The flashing light makes the alarm easy to find in dim light.
Cons: It doesn't have a 10 key keypad so you have to set the unit by holding the hour or minute button down until you get the setting you want.
This is a great little alarm for general purpose use.

After having an OXO timer with buttons that were squishy, wobbly and difficult to press, I began my quest for a new timer. This time, I read Amazon reviews. I purchased this timer and it's TERRIFIC!! It fits great in your hand, clips on to clothing and stands up on the counter very sturdily.
You can set it for hours/minutes or minutes/seconds. It has an illuminating alarm option that's very cool. It also vibrates but I haven't used that function yet. The alarm is all I need.
I was a little concerned that the timer didn't have actual numbers to press but when you hold down the hour, minute or second button, it moves through the numbers very quickly so you can set your time in a flash.
I highly recommend this timer!
