This is a nice little timer that's great for all kinds of uses. The magnet allows you to attach it to a refrigerator or other metal surface. It's very easy to set the alarm to use just light, vibration, or beeping, or any combination of the three. It counts down from your pre-set time and can be set to hours & minutes, or minutes & seconds. My one complaint is that it requires you to reset the timer every time you change the length of time. For example, if you set the timer for 45 minutes, but then want to set it for 50 minutes later on, you can't simply add 5 minutes to the display and press start. You have to completely reset the time to zero and start over. It's not a huge inconvenience but it is slightly annoying. Also, I have found the magnet is not quite strong enough to allow the timer to securely attach to some surfaces.
This has been one of the best gadgets I've ever bought. The timer has been useful not only for cooking times, but also to time countdowns for my mini-exercise sessions, study time, reminders, and all sorts of things. You'll find a ton of uses for this, and for the price, it cannot be beat.

This is one of the best timers around! I bought it to help me work on FlyLady missions and other projects during the day.
When you want to set the timer, you can either push the button each time to increase the hours/minutes/sec (and it will beep/vibrarte/light up for each push) or you can hold it down to make it go fast forward. The beeping from the alarm is not loud, but not so quiet that you would miss it either. I love the ability to select the type of alarm desired as well as switch between hours and minutes to minutes and seconds. You can start and stop in between actual timed sessions which allows for the neccessary interruptions. Also, it's pretty intuitive.
What had surprised me the most was it's size. It's really small, but has a nice big readout screen. The body is only maybe 2" by 1.5" by .75" plus the small strong clip that also can serve as a stand or magnet. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating is that there is no off button for when you are not using it. Within a few days, I saw the low battery warning, but it has been going for a few weeks already, and I haven't changed it yet!

After purchasing several timers at the local supermarket only to find out that they were defective (alarms didn't work), I ordered this one. At first I thought it too was defective, as no alarm went off, no matter which of the three settings a tried: alarm light, audible alarm and vibrating alarm.
Voila! I was about to give up, go back to good old fashioned clock watching, and sometimes overcook something. Then I thought to check the batteries (two of them, AAA). Sure enough, one of them was inserted the wrong way. Upon correction, the three alarm settings work perfectly.
This timer is small, yet easy to read (large black numbers). You can clip it on or use the simple stand. The "light" alarm flashes across the top of the timer. The "vibrating" alarm simply vibrates. And the audible one is loud enough not to be missed, but not overly raucous.
The timer is also very flexible: it can be set for only a few seconds up to 19 hours/59 minutes maximum time. You can set hours/minutes or minutes/seconds.
It seems to me this timer is perfect. And I love the smart design.

I can be very distractable, so a timer to remind me that the tea is done, rather than have it ruined by brewing for much too long, is of real value. Ditto for the lunch in the microwave at work, so I don't forget all about it for an hour. But, I don't want to drive others nuts with the sound of my timer always beeping. The light-only mode in this timer does the trick perfectly, with a very large illuminated flashing red band across the top of the timer that is hard to miss when I'm working at my desk.
Oh, and I bought another one for my wife, at home recovering from knee surgery. Using the hours/minutes mode that goes up to 19 hours, I can set the four hour interval for her medications and be sure she'll get them on time. Most kitchen timers won't go over 99 minutes, not nearly long enough.
I expect the vibrate mode to be equally useful once I get to try it out - just wish they had made it less likely to accidentally push the on/off button and turn off the timer when in my jeans pocket.
Still, this gadget does several things no other time can do - so I declare it a winner.

I was dubious that this product could be useful without memorizing a book of programing information or that the features could truly be more useful than a regular timer with just the beep function. So I was pleasantly surprised to learn that each funtion, beep, vibrate, light up, and min-sec to hour-min, had its seperate switch on the back. So, I can have a beeping, vibrating, light up timer or a vibrating, light up timer, or a beeping, light up timer, etc. while only flicking switches on the back! The vibrating, light up features would be perfect for moms of napping children, reminders in public, entertaining company, the hard of hearing, and so on. The clip-on feature is useful in a large home, while participating in noisy activities (vacuuming, etc.), or while timing activity (this timer can also count up as a stop watch). On top of it all, the manufacturers believe in this timer so much that they give it a warranty. I'm giving one to my mother, sister, grandma ... this is a great timer, I bet I know some guys who would love this gadget!
