The best endorsement I can give is that I just purchased my second one of these. I was thrilled with it until I used it to cook meat on the grill. The temperature jumped to "HI" and it never recovered. I was mad when it broke and didn't want to replace it, but I missed using it and eventually gave in and bought a new one. For oven use this is a great thermometer. I love that I can set the timer and the temperature. It saves you from over-cooked meat. I've used thermometers in cooking for years and years. I have two older versions of this thermometer. I needed a good candy thermometer and was unhappy with the other options. With the clip on this one it works great for just this purpose. I've mastered fudge in just a couple of batches (and some good instruction). I would have recommended this thermometer even before this based on my previous two but the clip adds another dimension that makes it even better. There's no need for an On/Off switch. I've had one of these ten years. In that time, I've replaced the battery twice. I bet even if I removed the battery every time I put it away (which would be a hassle since I use its timer feature almost daily), I still would have needed the new batteries due to the batteries getting old.
Only three stars since after ten years it's falling apart and the temperature probe no longer works. But the timer still works and I got a good eight years out of it.

I have used this nice little digital probe thermometer several times since receiving it and I have been pleased with the performance. I used the temperature alarm to alert me when the oven has reached the point I set ti for on the dial/needed by the recipe, and for telling me the internal temperature of the roasts and things I cook. It is easy to use even without reading the instructions. I especially like that I am not limited to pre-set temperatures for my meats. This is my first thermometer that I have used for cooking a turkey and am very pleased with it. It was easy to use and helped me out so much with the turkey that I could relax on Thanksgiving. I did read the reviews and followed the advice to make sure not to get the connections to the probe wet(which it also states in the booklet that is included with this product). It was easy to set the desired temperature and the cook time. Overall, this product was agreat buy and am very pleased with it.
