Customer Review: Very handy for timing walks

I use this timer mostly for timing walks. I can set the timer for half the time that I want to walk and then turn around when it rings, or I can just time the whole walk with the counter. The only thing I dislike about this product is that I have to be very careful not to accidently bump the "clear" button against something. Switching to clock mode (while letting the timer or counter run) makes this less likely, but it's still possible to hit a button accidently and screw everything up. I bought this primarily for grilling, I am often moving back and forth between the grill and the kitchen, or just wanting to more accurately time my grilling, be it searing 1 minute per side or slow roasting chicken thighs for 30 minutes. Because this timer moves with me, I don't have to worry about missing the alert or feel chained to the grill (especially when winter grilling).
Its easy to use an unobtrusive, yet alerts loud enough to be clear to me without disturbing the entire room.

The timer works great, is pretty easy on batteries and reliable. I've had mine for years now and have replaced the battery once. I use it all the time. It would be 5 stars if it were a little bigger and the number buttons were arranged in a keypad type arrangement rather than the goofy 1-5 in the top row and 6-10 in the bottom row (meaning I have to look at the buttons all the time and making it easy to hit the wrong number). But at least it has number buttons at all, which most timers do not.Customer Review: A Really Great Product

My wife and I purchased the Polder Clock, Timer & Stopwatch (in white) about 3 years ago and we just purchased two more in black since we often find ourselves needing to time two things at the same time. One of the two new ones will be a gift to a friend of ours. We actually use these timers almost as often as the microwave oven which is alot! The battery in the first one we bought lasted a very long time (it finally needed changing about a month ago). We highly recommend this product.Customer Review: Unclear Directions

The directions are minimalist at best. I could not figure out how to actually set the correct time for the timer. Finally in looking through reviews someone mention it and viola now I've got it ! (e.g for 20 minutes punch in 2-0-0-0) It's handy around the neck but, at least on me, if I bump against something by accident, I'll hit a button by mistake. This is annoying. As others have mentioned the loud beep is irritating.
Otherwise nice large display, has clock and stopwatch.
