Failed in the middle of a busy dinner, making pizzas for nine people. Turned on; just didn't work.
If it hadn't randomly quit in the middle of dinner, I'd have given it two stars. It just has a lousy interface. The "clear" button is right where the "start/stop" button should be ... and is right next to the actual start/stop button, and the same size. This is completely retarded ... it almost guarantees that you're going to punch in your information and then clear it when you want the timing to begin. User Interface Design 101: Failed.
On top of that, the overall form is dumb. The display is much too small, and gets a disproportionately small amount of the unit's real estate. The magnet is situated so that when you stick it to a metal surface, the whole timer will fall sideways, leaving the display facing the wrong way.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Only good feature is the lanyard.

I first bought the white version of this timer about ten years ago. At that time, it sold for $30, so at $15 it's a bargain; recently I bought the black version, which with its colored buttons looks cooler than white.
For the last few years, I've used the old one at least ten times a day, without ever having to change batteries. I've dropped it a few times on a ceramic floor and otherwise abused it occasionally, but all three functions still work perfectly. It's simple to set, has a "batch feature" (meaning it recalls the previous setting when you turn it off) so you don't have to reset it when you continue to use a particular setting. It's meant to be carried around your neck, if you wish, so it's on the small side and the compact button layout might not be convenient for people with arthritis.
It does what it was designed to do extremely well; what more can you ask?

This item is incredibly useful. It is a clock, an alarm timer and a count-up timer.
I am a hot glass worker and I dare not be even a minute late in turning off a kiln if I do not want a piece of glass art to turn into a puddle. That is what first got me to buy and use this device. But, I find the item works well as an alarm clock - its size lends itself to use as a travel alarm/clock.
It is very handy for cooking, setting yard sprinklers, etc. - any activity that requires that you stay on notice. You can set the stove, sprinkler, etc. and then go about your other business in other places with an uncluttered, unworried mind because the timer is small (1"x3/8"x4"), light and has a neck lanyard.
The small battery runs for years, literally and drives the solid-state mechanism and an easily-readible digital readout. Comes in black and ivory.

I needed a small countdown timer to keep with me to remind me when to take medications through the day. I searched and found dozens of these, but either they were too large, didn't have the features I wanted or other things I did not like. It seemed the only negative reviews for this item was that the alarm was too loud, but I wanted one that I would hear over the ambient noise. Also, when i had to take a med at night, this was better than an alarm clock, as could put it right next to me on the bed, and it was loud enough to wake me from a sound sleep. The clock and stopwatch are bonuses, and are also handy to have. It has worked very well. I might have been confused at how to set the clock or enter the time for countdown, but several people here were kind enough to explain how to enter the zeros when needed, so it worked like a charm.Customer Review: The Perfect Polder Clock/Timer

This is a wonderful product. I am elderly, have diabetes, and have short-term memory loss! This little timer with its lanard allows me to carry it like a neckless reminding me to shut the sprinkers off, take my TV dinner out of the oven, and take the endless two-hour blood sugar tests. I would truly be lost without it. It takes only a touch of the button to reset the same time interval! I used to carry around an alarm clock only to leave it on the table when I moved about the house and thereby miss
the alarm and my blood test. I used to turn the clock hands to reset the alarm and wind the clock and alarms. All of this was hard with my numb fingers. I love my new Polder Clock, Timer. I wish all diabetics had one.
