Customer Review: Look elsewhere...

I purchased this as a gift, as I had a hard time finding a black bread box locally. The item arrived with broken clips on the "handle" as others have complained. The door was also so badly warped that the door wouldn't fully open. I repackaged the item, and returned it back to Amazon for replacement. (To Amazon's credit, the new breadbox was waiting at the front door the next day). I brought it into the house, unpacked the box, and voila! ANOTHER broken plastic clip! This time the door wasn't warped, but the base was, so it didn't sit squarely on the countertop (another common complaint here.) Today I sent the box back, and have decided not to get a replacement. I understand that you "get what you pay for", but at the same time, you'd imagine that these things have to pass a QC test by either Polder or Amazon before being packaged and sent. My advice is to look elsewhere.
