Customer Review: Inconsistent quality

I've had terrific experiences with other Pinzon products. I own the Pakka wood knife set and the french press. Both are great products and I'd recommend them to anyone. But this, I cannot recommend.
The cutting board is bamboo and it's nice. The drawer is convenient, but it takes some effort to slide. Without rubber feet to secure the board on the counter, opening is a two-hand affair. It locks into the closed position to prevent accidental drawer opening during transport.
The knives are a tremendous disappointment! They LOOK a lot like those expensive brands like the much-loved Global often seen on Iron Chef and other Food Network programs. The steel feels cheap. It doesn't have the deep lustre of my other trusty Pinzon knives. The blade is thin. In fact, the cheapness & thinness give it the feel of a box-cutter blade. The handle is hollow. That makes the product feel even cheaper. The knives have no heft. They're THE lightest knives (for this size) that I've ever handled.
What deepens my disppointment is that I bought two of these as gifts for my grandmothers. I guess, looking on the bright side, the lighter weight will be easier for them to control. And maybe the edge will hold better than I expect, though without an included honing steel, I really don't think that'll happen.
But I really shouldn't complain too much. After all, it DID say hollow handles & stamped blade in the description. So I give it 2 stars. Not the worst rating but still not something I recommend.
UPDATE: Both my grandmothers claim they love these knives for the lightweight and razor sharpness. I can't be sure if they're just saying that or if they mean it.

Amazon.com Product Description: Pinzon's santoku and cutting board set offers quality performance and sleek construction. The set includes 5-inch and 7-inch santoku knives, a bamboo storage drawer, and a 12-3/4-by-15-3/4-inch bamboo cutting board. The santoku knives, Japanese-style cook's knives designed for chopping, feature a low-tip style with broad blades. The cutting edge of a santoku is minimally curved, providing less rocking action than typical European-style cook's knives. Alternating hollows on each side of the santoku blades create air pockets, allowing slices to fall away. The knives in this set are constructed of high-carbon, stainless-steel and have been stamped and double welded to create sharp edges. Half tangs extend to the hollow stainless-steel handles, which are ergonomically designed and contoured for everyday use. The knives in this set are imported and should be washed by hand. The bamboo storage drawer features one slot for each knife, and slides smoothly in and out of the bottom of the cutting board for convenience. The matching bamboo cutting board is 1-3/4 inches thick and easy to clean-just rinse with warm water and dry immediately.
