Customer Review: It's worth the Price
Summary: 4 Stars

I love pasta, but the idea of making my own always filled me with a sense of fear and foreboding. I can't even make a pie crust, and my pancakes are hit-or-miss. And it's so easy to head to the nearest grocery store and pick up a package, right? This little machine made some of the best pasta I've ever had.

Understand, there is a lot of work to it. Making the dough is simple, but takes some real kneading. This machine comes with a crank handle, so you have to crank with one hand, while guiding the pasta dough in with the other, and guiding the rolled or cut pasta with your third hand. Only have two? Yeah, me, too. It's a little tricky, but worth the effort. Just don't expect it to be like a pasta robot.

This is my first pasta machine. It isn't designed for use by chefs or in a restaurant. It's a low-priced, functional gadget, made for the home chef who wants to take it up a notch, and is willing to make the effort. Don't expect perfect results the first time. Maybe not ever. The cutters didn't entirely cut through the pasta, leaving me some cleanup work to do by hand. For what I paid, it was worth it.

Customer Review: So much fun!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I consider myself a chef wannabe. I watch the cooking channel and then try to mimic them in my own kitchen. Sometimes it works, and sometimes, well, not so much! I've wanted a pasta maker for a long time for lots of reasons. They look fun. It'll make me feel like a "pro". I love pasta!! When I saw this one, I just had to grab it. I'm so glad I did! The pasta recipe was simple and easy. I clamped the machine on my counter (make sure it's tight!) and started rolling the pasta through. It took a little practice, but pretty soon I was feeling like Giada. ha! It really was fun and I had a blast using it.

Oh! I also make crafts using polymer clay and have read that using a small pasta maker is a great way to condition the clay. Since the price is so low, I think I'm going to buy another one to use for my clay.

Buy it. You'll love it!

Customer Review: Good Price, but You Get What You Pay for
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this product primarily because it was inexpensive and I wasn't sure how much fresh pasta I would realistically be making.

Unfortunately, you definitely get what you pay for with this product. The handle is cheap and comes apart from normal use. You can fit it back together, but it is very annoying. It slips out of the machine frequently when turning the handle.

The clip to hold it to a table/counter is also cheap and constantly becoming loose so that I had to make adjustments throughout making the pasta.

Finally, the machine is extremely hard to clean (I'm still not sure I really got it clean!) and the pasta dough really sticks to it and gets stuck in little places. Because you aren't supposed to get the machine wet, it's hard to know what to do about it! I let it dry and then tried to brush off the dried pasta pieces, but I don't think this was totally successful.

Overall, I will probably use this machine again since I have it, but if I end up making a lot of pasta, I will definitely purchase a higher quality machine.

Customer Review: You got what you paid for
Summary: 1 Stars

I gave my previous pasta maker (priced at $40+ a few years ago, which I liked a lot) to my sister-in-law, so I bought this one for myself - it looks exactly the same but cheaper. In comparison with the previous one, my first impression is that this one feels more flimsy as the metal parts (I doubt if it is stainless steel, it rusted later) are much thinner than the previous one, but this would not matter if it worked well. I used it twice so far, using the wider blades and it failed both times to give me separate threads -- they stick together two by two and I have to manually tear them apart. (I was making Chinese style noodles using just flour so the dough might be softer than regular pasta doughs). What's worse, the machine becomes very rusty after the first use (I wiped it with wet towel paper) and the second time it became super difficult and noisy to turn the handles. It was a real pain and I am not sure if I still want to use it any more. Any ways, I guess it is always true that you get what you paid for.

Customer Review: Works Wonderfully
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this Pinzon Pasta Maker. This is actually my first pasta maker, so I can't really compare it to any of the other brands out there, but I have used it twice now and each time it has work wonderfully for me. This pasta maker comes with an attachment that makes two types of pasta & it has nine settings for the rollers. At first I did have a problem with it wanting to slide around while I was using it (my table is kind of slick), but putting a dish cloth under it solved the problem. I haven't had any problems with the handle "just falling out" like other reviews (on other pasta makers) complain about. I would do as the instructions say and make a small amount of dough to run through the machine to remove any leftover debris that may be in your machine before actually making your pasta and follow the instructions on how to clean it, too. The price that Amazon is selling this for is very reasonable and I am pleased with my purchase. I would definitely buy this item again & recommend it.
