Pfaltzgraff Naturewood Serenity Salad PlateThis is, plain and simple, a pretty plate. In a mottled forest green with a fir-green border, it looks like something from a posh cabin-style resort in the woods somewhere. The rustic plate looks as if its glazes were layered on by an artisan, so much so that there are slight, natural variations from one plate to the next; Pfaltzgraff refers to this look as "spatter-tone." Off-center, embossed into the ceramic, is a square with a textured flowerpot in it. Whether as part of a Serenity Sage pattern collection or as a stand-alone piece, this plate is just lovely.
And it follows form with function; the Serenity salad plate is a good multi-purpose plate. It's the right size for a salad, a sandwich, or a pile of cookies or crackers.
