This stoneware bowl from Pfaltzgraff is a deep serving bowl that can be used with the Sedona dish set or as a stand-alone, cheery addition to sets with red, yellow, dark blue, or light green in them. As the name implies, the design is Southwestern, with speckled accents.
The bowl has steep sides; it measures four inches high by nine inches in diameter. While not a large serving bowl, its capacity will be adequate to serve vegetables or other side dish to a family of four. It is oven-, freezer-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe, although instructions inside warn consumers than stoneware may get hot in the microwave. Use potholders when heating for lengthy times in the microwave.

I bought 8 of these to use as large salad bowls along with the appetizer plates of the same pattern. They work great for that purpose. However, after just a month or so of use, the two bowls and two plates that we use most often are chipped and cracked. There has not been an obvious "oops, I dropped it" moment. We wash them by hand, put them in the rack to dry, and when we go to put them up find chips or cracks. I am very disappointed but glad I found this out before ordering a whole dinnerware set. I think if I would have known the how fragile this dishes were I would have thought twice. They chips very easy.
