Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Pet Parade Dog Repeller and Training AidCustomer Review: Works Great Summary: 5 Stars
I recently rescued a dog and am trying to re-home her. She's very sweet, but re-homing her has been impossible; when people come to see her she immediately goes into her protective barking/growling mode. I bought this hoping that I could use it to get her attention when people come to the door and teach her to greet new people properly. This works! I couldn't believe it. The first time I used it, she stopped and looked at me and calmed down. My other dog and the cat immediately ran out of the room. I do have to say it seems to be more effective on my other dog and the cat, but it works anyway.
Our neighbors also have a very large dog they keep outside all the time that barks day and night, at anything and everything. This works on him, too! I've spent years yelling at this dog, bribing him with treats, and yes, hosing him with water (I feel bad about that one). This is a cheap, easy fix, and it works. Couldn't be more happy with this.
Customer Review: Works great on our dog Summary: 5 Stars
Our small dog is not a constant, yapping barker. However, once she sees a cat, she will bark for a long time. This quiets her instantly. We don't abuse it, just when she seems to be getting in a red zone of barking. Most of the time now she stops barking as soon as I pick it up, without pushing the button.
An even bigger, unexpected benefit is when we tap the repeller, she comes immediately. Now when she is hot on the trail of a "critter" on her late night bathroom break, we just tap the button and she comes instantly. When she occasionally darts out the front door and heads for the street, we tap the button and she's back in a flash. I don't know if other dogs react the same but our dog does.
I've bought 2 of these inexpensive gems, one to keep at the front door and one at the back door. They have save us a lot of time getting the dog back in the house. Before you try something more expensive, give this a try.
Customer Review: It works great, but it broke... Summary: 3 Stars
The product worked as described. I have a constantly barking dog next door. As soon as I received the "Dog Repeller", I took it with me while working in my backyard. When the neighbor's dog started barking, I held it up next to the fence, pointed it, and pushed the button. The dog, immediately backed off. It kept barking for a little while, but on the other side of their yard. After repeating this a few times, the dog eventually stopped barking.
It worked great. But there is a problem. The button will not "unpush" itself easily. It remains pushed until I can shake it loose. And sometimes that won't work and I have to remove the battery. But for $9, I am not complaining because the dog next door is not as big of a problem because of it.
Side note: My dogs hate it. One dog runs away, the other wants to protect me from it and tries to attack it. It's pretty funny.
I do recommend, but don't push the button too hard.
Customer Review: Absolutely amazing!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Rocky, my neighbor's German Shepperd, barks at me every time I am in the yard or at the balcony. This started from day one I moved in my new house two months ago. Rocky has been very annoying. I simply cannot enjoy in peace and quiet in my yard or at the balcony.
I went out to the yard with my new Dog Repeller (DR) and of course Rocky started barking. I looked over the wall and he was about 10 feet from me. I aim the DR at Rocky and push the button a few seconds. The barking stopped immediately. Rocky look at me puzzled, tilted and moved his ears for a couple of time, turned around and walked away with his head and tail down!!!. He looked defeated.
After a few times of "training", Rocky does not bark anymore when I am in the yard. Rocky would bark at the noise when I open the balcony door, but as soon as he know it was I, Rocky stop barking. Absolute amazing.
Customer Review: Amazing! Worked like a charm! Summary: 5 Stars
I was very hesitant and not at all convinced when purchasing this item.
One of our three-year-old Yorkie-poos started to bark obnoxiously for no reason non stop every evening. As my husband sat on the couch Tucker would jump at my husband and bark. We had no idea why! It drove us almost insane. All of the dogs needs were met - but he would seem to do this just for attention, and as the weeks went on it became unbearable.
We tried everything! So this little item was my last shot. I SWEAR I only used it once or twice for one evening, and said said "no bark" as I quickly pushed the button. Tuck immediately stopped barking and ran upstairs. The second night (and ever since) I only need to say "no bark" and he clearly gets it. This little thing was a life saver. My house is so much quieter! I still can't believe how quickly this thing worked!
LOVE IT and HIGHLY Recommend it!
