Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Pet Parade Dog Repeller and Training AidCustomer Review: Wonderful Product, Stupid people Summary: 5 Stars
The saddest part about this thing is that it works too well. We have three dogs and they never shut up. They won't bark at the two story tractor that comes up to our fence, but they bark for hours at our neighbor sitting in his own backyard or something that they -think- they've seen. They think their territory is "as far as they can see", so they bark for 10 minutes

There have also been multiple occasions where they have barked, for six hours, at an animal that has long since left the yard during the night.
Step outside, and press this button. The dog instantly runs inside and nothing is heard from it for two hours. It's magic. It's peace and quiet for $10 and no shipping. This is one of the major reasons that I really and truly love Amazon. I'm an atheist, but it's things like this that make me think that there is a god. I'm just that pleased with this item.
The only minor caveat is that it doesn't work too well on smaller dogs. We have a border collie and two dachshunds ("weiner dogs"). The smaller dogs don't respond to it very well but the border collie looks like it's been smacked in the face. Fortunately, the bigger dog running inside usually cuts the fuel of the smaller ones to keep barking.
Now we get to the real problem with this device: Other ignorant people. My ignorant mother never read the instructions yet insists that this thing "is hurting them". First, the instructions CLEARLY read that the dog will NOT be harmed unless you point the thing less than two feet from its ears, and I never do that.
Second, WHO CARES? I'm no animal abuser, but really, who cares? If it means actually being able to LIVE in our own house again, who cares if the dogs have to be a little uncomfortable. The dogs are stupid animals and we're human beings.
If you think I'm cold or cruel at this point, you are simply not a dog owner. These dogs never. stop. barking.
Besides, the alternative is dad -who has to scream his brains out- to get the dogs to shut up. And think of all the families who actually DO hit/beat their dogs to get them to stop, or the electric collars. This is a very, very, VERY humane, very safe way to get them to shut up. And it freakin' works. For $10.
Mom has "conditions" on when it can be used. They have to be outside, at the fence, and had to have been barking for like two hours. Every individual time I press this button and instantly end the dogs' barking, she gives me the same lecture on how "I'm hurr de durp durr hurting the dogs durp hurr!!1"
I wish I had a second device for her to shut up, too.
It's bad for us, but I don't even know how much it must piss off the neighbors; they didn't ask for this. Our neighbor likes to take care of his garden. If he goes in his own back yard, he had better pray that the dogs don't notice him, because they're going to be out barking at him until he goes inside. Doesn't matter if he stays out there for six minutes or six hours; they will be there every moment and be barking the entire time. Even though there is a fence they think it's our property on the other side, and our neighbor is a trespasser.
I almost wish the thing didn't work. Because every time the dogs bark for 2 hours(which is about every 30 minutes) the situation can be averted by pressing a button. One button. It blows my mind for a device like this to be sitting in your living room or backyard. The way out is literally a push of a button away.
We have almost had fights over this. It's sad. So if you order this thing, have it in your pocket and try to keep it a secret, or FIRMLY educate your family members on its humanity. I would have if I had known.
