I bought two boxes of these. Seemed like they gave out fast. So I compared the weight of full cartridges against the weight of empty cartridges and did the math. Granted I had a small sample size (2 empty cartridges and 7 full ones). The weight difference was just over 3 grams per cartridge. Argon is a noble gas, so at an atomic weight of 40, one mole at 40 grams should give 22.4 liters. 3 grams comes out to 1.68 liters per cartridge. Compare that against a similarly sized bike inflation cartridge which has a net weight of 16 grams. To me that spells short count.Customer Review: Works well, but costly

Argon gas does a good job of preserving wine, but it's a little pricey. You end up paying at least $4 per cartridge when you include shipping, and you get maybe 10 applications per cartridge, maybe a little more. I've recently tried a nitrogen-CO2 alternative which is an order of magnitude cheaper, and it seems to be perfectly adequate for preserving wine for a few days, which is all I usually need.Customer Review: great stuff!
