Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of PUR Ultimate Slim Design Water Pitcher

Customer Review: Great Water
Summary: 5 Stars

This pitcher is great. I bought it about 2 years ago. The only problem was that the handle broke. But I loved it so much I just bought another one. The slim design is great for tight spaces in the fridge. The filters last me about a month, which I guess is average. I can't even cook with the tap water in my house (it tastes so bad)so I use this for cooking. These are the best inexpensive filters on the market. The only thing better would be a reverse osmosis system which is BIG BUCKS. So, I'll stick with my Pur for now.

Customer Review: good filter for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

I could definitely tell a difference in the taste of my water, and hopefully that means it's chlorine free, but I haven't had it tested. However, it must be doing its job because the filter itself only lasts about a month! I think that its life span just depends on how bad your water is. It works better that my old Brita filter, which I could tell wasn't working because my water still smelled like chlorine with that one. That being said, I would buy the PUR pitcher over again if given the choice.

Customer Review: light pitcher but fragile
Summary: 3 Stars

It is light weight and easy to handle. But after 2 months, it started to leak. The bottom had a crack. It was never droped to the floor. The bottom hit the sink or the dishes inside the sink occasionally when I filled it. I guess the crack was created by such contacts with the objects in the sink. So the bottom is not strong. Consider the height of the pitcher, its bottom is easy to touch the dishes in the sink. I am looking for another water picther with a bit thicker bottom.

Customer Review: Excellent but smaller than you think
Summary: 5 Stars

I've experienced no problems with this product after three months of nightly usage. I will tell you that it's worth it to get a larger pitcher as this one can only fill about 2.5 glasses. If you're eating dinner with a friend, you'll find yourself resorting to tap water with this tiny pitcher. At first I noticed a slight chemical taste not present in Brita filtration but after a couple weeks either the taste went away or I became desensitized to it. Excellent product, no problems.

Customer Review: No stuff floating in my water
Summary: 4 Stars

The pitcher is a bit small for me. I use this pitcher in my office and found myself refilling it twice a day. Initially, the taste was kinda of strange. My co-worker and I both agreed that there's an after taste. However, after a couple of days of drinking from the pitcher, guest I acquired the taste and don't find it to be an after taste anymore.

I'm happy that's there's no black grainy stuff floating at the bottom of the Pur pitcher as my Brita pitcher does.
