Customer Review: Good Filter, bad lid design

I like this pitcher water filter for it's footprint in the refrigerator, how good it makes my water tastes, overall good looks, and the price. The weak spot in this product is the lid. Mine developed a crack near the handle within a week of owning it. I didn't drop the lid, though I'm not sure how the crack developed. I went back to the store and opened two more boxes of this pitcher, and both of the lids had cracks at the same location as mine. I wouldn't buy this product again for that reason.Customer Review: Hard to use

I got the oval pitcher. Now, I admit I have arthritis in my hands but the pitcher is hard for me to pick up and I rarely pour from it without having water on the counter.
It came with the top that is supposed to indicate when it is time to replace the filter. It worked for the first filter replacement. For second filter replacement it refused to reset and always shows it is time to replace the filter.
I am very unhappy and going back to the Brita filter.

I really found this pitcher useful, having had several designs from PUR before. My only objection to this model is the observation that the top seems tough to remove when changing the filter. It would be helpful if there were some type of directions imprinted in the plastic top near the back of the gray top (or near the top of gray portion of the handle) indicating how to release the top. Otherwise you are fiddling with the directions trying to find out how to remove the top.Customer Review: Better than Brita

I recently bought this filter for my dorm bedroom as I was very displeased with the Brita in our common kitchen. The Brita does not filter out all of the contaminants that the Pur does, also the L.E.D. indicator is a much better reminder to change the filter than the cheap stickers that come with the Brita. If better tasting water and a better filter change reminder aren't enough, the Pur looks much nicer for approximately the same price as a comparable Brita.Customer Review: Good

Purchased this to replace a Britta filter that seemed to be falling apart. On the whole, I much prefer it to the Britta - the water definitely tastes better, and the look is more sleek. The one issue I have with it is that if you try to pour while the water is still filtering through, the top can come off and water goes everywhere. However, this is easily solved by just holding the top down when you pour if there is still water filtering through.
