I was being a bit paranoid about the lead and chlorine in Dayton's (Ohio) water, so I wanted a quick and easy solution. I'm not a big fan of the faucet attachments, so I bought this pitcher and I freaking love it. It's very easy to assemble and I was drinking great tasting water about 20 minutes after I got it home. The filter is very fast, and it can filter its full capacity in about 1 minute. In short, this by far exceeded my expectations and I would buy another one if it was broken or stolen out of my fridge by PUR Filter-thriving zombies.Customer Review: Better then tap water

I've been growing increasingly paranoid about contaminants in tap water so I went and bought the PUR water filter. So far so good! It was easy to put together and filtered quickly. I did read a lot of reviews about how crisp and clean the filtered water was and have to say that I was dissappointed. I grew up on well water and I've never tasted anything as refreshing as that. But since I've moved into town and am now on city water I do have to say it's better then that.
So, only 4 stars because I was expecting well water quality.

This pitcher uses the CRF 950Z element. The CRF950Z replaces the CRF950, which worked for us for years. The Z has no indicator, so you have to guess as to when to replace it. This is quite difficult if your consumption and household varies.
In addition, it stops flowing quite often. Sometimes flow can be reinstated by banging, shaking, or removing it and shaking it. Sometimes not.
Due to the non-availability of the old style filters, my Pur pitcher went in the trash and we are now using a Brita.

I bought the pitcher version although I have very clean water, did it to get the fluoride taste out. After 2 weeks, nothing running through. Called Pur, they promised me a filter replacement coupon, and sent me a 2 for 1 instead. Bought new filter, clogged up again after only 10 days. Are they trying to fraud people into buying a new filter every 2 weeks? I had the faucet version, too, for over 6 years, and it holds up to 6 months. What is going on here?Customer Review: Love it!!!

I highly recommend this!! I bought it because I was sick and tired of using so much bottled water. Just think of the amount of plastic we waste!!
I love the taste of the water. It even tastes better than some of these bottled waters and it feels so good that you don't have to waste so much money and plastic anymore. Changing the filter is very easy and it turns out much cheaper that buying water.
VERY GOOD BUY! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
