I recieved my PUR water filter pitcher today and Ive got to say I am very impressed with how fast it filters the water and the crisp taste of it after wards. I taste tested my tap water straight from the tap and then from my PUR pitcher and I was amazed and the difference. I have to say I was a little skeptical after I had purchased the pitcher and then read the reviews but I took the chance and im glad I did. I will be recommending this pitcher to all of my friends great taste and I feel much better knowing that my daughter will get clean water to drink instead of water that taste like bacteria is in it. This thing is garbage in every conceivable way!
Withing a week, it started filtering more slowly. Within a month it was taking close to 4 hours to complete a single filter-through!
The plastic is soooooo cheap! I initially cleaned it with a regular, old fashioned sponge, the kind with a soft and mildy abrasive plastic side. Well the mildy abrasive side of the sponge just scoured right into the plastic! You can literally carve off pieces of plastic with it! Just for kicks I used the same sponge on my old brita pitcher and it did no damage at all.
Just go for the Brita instead!

Although I love the filtration system, the plastic pitcher is poor quality. I have a pitcher from about 6 years ago which still works great and is very sturdy. I bought this one last summer to take on a cruise. After I received it, I immediately noticed that this one is half the weight and the plastic so thin, I decided to pack my old one for the cruise and leave this one home. Within 2 weeks the new one (which I keep on my kitchen counter) developed a large crack in the inside "blue" part. It was almost like it couldn't handle the weight of the water. PUR CR-6000 2-Stage Oval-Shaped Water-Filtration Pitcher
Following the instruction, I filled the pitcher and poured the first glass of water. The pitcher cracked. As I observed it, the pitcher body cracked where the top of the handle is attached. No wonder! That is exactly where the highest stress will be when you tilt the pitcher to pour. The handle could be attached an inch, or even an half inch, below the edge of the body to strengthen it. Do not buy this item as it will not serve you too long.

I enjoy my filter a lot! Yeh it filters water a little bit slow, but you should read the instractions first, don't pay attention to the people who writes that is filters slow and sometimes fast so they just throught out the filter before 2 mounth use and put another one that it cam filter faster! The filter takes 1 week to adjust filter elements and after that the filter takes 1 to two hours to filter the water but that it it's capacity, it can filter only 2-3 gallons dayly so don't expect it to be fast!! The water taste great, I would highly recommend this filterarion system!
